Adoptees-UKIE (UK and Republic of
Ireland Adoptees mailing list)
Adoptees-UKIE set up 1997 by 3 adoptees with a UK connection is
to help adoptees & birth-parents living or searching in the UK
& Ireland; also so they could exchange ideas, etc. Everything
is on a voluntary basis, the 3 founders sharing the initial costs.
Confidentiality within the group & courtesy towards other members
is essential, so you need not fear that any secret will be divulged
without your consent. Only members can submit postings so no worries
about receiving unsolicited mail. Subscribing anonymously, means you
are known only to the computer & the two people with
administration rights to the mailing list. FAQs & a 'useful
information' document for UK & Eire searches are periodically
issued; a UK search guide is being prepared. The list administrator
also has useful documents & forms members can request. Several
successful reunions have already taken place. To join, email (listserv@listserver.pipemedia.net)
including in your email 'subscribe adoptees-ukie'
followed by your preferred name; or email howardw.maygate@pipemedia.co.uk
